Sleep Better with Technology at your Side

We’ve all heard it before… leave the technology out of the bedroom. You’re never going to a get a full night of rest with your phone at your side, your TV blaring in the background and the hallway light creeping through under the cracks of the door.

To be honest, this isn’t too far from the truth. All this ‘blue light’ emitted from all that technology inhibits your body’s natural ability to produce Melatonin—you know, that thing you need in order to fall asleep and, subsequently, stay asleep.

Believe it or not, technology does existthat actually helps you achieve a better night’s rest—and without all that nasty blue light. Here’s a few of them for you.

Security Devices

This one’s a no brainer, right? If your windows and doors are secured with an alarm system every night, then that’s one less thing you’ll have to worry about. Knowing you’ll be woken up before someone makes it to your bed isterrifying, yet, comforting at the same time.

Natural Light

‘Alarm clocks’—like this one from Philips—are created with the intention of arousing you from sleep as your body was intended. So, instead of abruptly waking to the sound of something reminiscent of a car alarm, you’ll calmly and gradually wake to natural light. Because of these natural cues, your body will feel more rested.

Smart Beds

How are you supposed to sleep if you’re in pain the whole time? Well, a bed infused with technology will help you stay comfortable, pain-free and well-adjusted throughout the entire night. It can even track your sleep patterns for you and gently wake you up in the morning.

Low-Blue Nightlights

Sometimes we have to wake up in the middle of the night; there’s just no getting around that. Say you have young children or you hear a loud noise outside, you probably get up and walk around the house. All those lights you turn on in the process will make it hard for you to fall back asleep. In simpler terms, it confuses your body’s natural cycle. When you use Low-Blue Nightlights, you can see what’s going on without waking you more than you already are.
